A photograph kept me.It became my promise.
When I turned eighteen, my parents handed me a single small print, me at three months old, worn at the edges, impossibly precious. In a time when photographs were hard to take and harder still to keep, they had held onto this one. I went searching for more of the boy I had been, and found almost nothing. The rest lived only in other people's memories, fading. That ache never left me.
When my first child was born, I made a promise: her story would never be lost. I turned her photographs into archival prints, made to outlast hard drives and time itself. Because a child who grows up seeing themselves on the wall learns something nothing else can teach: that their story matters, that they were loved before they could remember, that they belong.
That promise became Kevin Doan Portraits. For five years now, I have photographed every family as if their child will one day be eighteen, searching for proof that they were seen.

We begin with a private conversation about your family, your home, and the walls waiting to be filled. Together we design a session tailored to you, wardrobe, styling, and the story you want told.

A relaxed, unhurried portrait experience in the studio or on location. I guide every moment so your children feel at ease, capturing genuine connection rather than forced smiles.

The Reveal
Days later, you're invited back for a private viewing. Your portraits are projected large, seen at their absolute best, and I personally guide you through choosing the pieces that move you most.

Your chosen images become hand-crafted wall art, fine art albums, and framed prints. Delivered, installed, and ready to be lived with, not lost in a folder on a device.

A session fee reserves your date and covers the full experience, my time, talent, and the private reveal. Your portraits are then chosen and ordered as the wall art and albums you'll live with, so you only invest in the pieces you truly love.
Most families invest between $1,200–$4,500 in their finished heirloom collection. Every home and story is unique, so we'll shape yours together at the reveal.

I'm Kevin Doan, a fine art portrait photographer based in Columbus, Georgia. My work began with a single photograph — one worn print of me at three months old, given to me the day I turned eighteen. That one image taught me what a portrait can hold: not just a face, but proof that a life was seen and loved.
Today I photograph children and families the way I wish someone had photographed mine — with patience, intention, and an eye for the moments that matter most. Every session is designed to become something you can hold, frame, and pass down. Not another file on a phone, but a heirloom your children will one day stand in front of and remember.
